Parking/toilet facilities

Parking at the start in Bossekop, in Detsika, and finish in Kaiskuru. Toilet facilities at start 46 km and finish in Kaiskuru. At the start 19 km and the other checkpoints there are no toilets available.

 

Transport of clothes

Transport of clothes from start to finish area, bag drop in a small car trailer at the parking lot, see map over start area here. Bags must be marked with your name.

Starting bibs can be picked up at the BUL house with 46 km start

Friday 18-19 pm

Sunday 9-10

 

Staring bibs can also be picked up at the 19 km start in Detsika, by the feeding station at Russekysten.

Road crossings and snowmobile traffic

There are two road crossings and two snowmobile track crossings! The course also follows a snowmobile track of 1,5 km about 11-10 km before finish. Beware of all this, but there will be volunteers managing the traffic. Especially be careful when crossing under the Sorrisniva bridge where it can be narrow.

 

Course Preparation

The course is groomed with grooming machines.

 

Feeding stations

There will be serving for 46 km at 10, 19, 27, 36 and 40 km. The 19 km will have two feeding stations.

Opening hours of service points

Eiby 10 km 9:30-11

Sorrisniva 18 km 10-12

Russkysten 27 km 10:30-13

Storvannet 36 km 11-13:30

Bælgiouda 40 km 11:10-14

Finish Kaiskuru 46 km 11:30-14:30

 

Nutrition at feeding stations

Sweet drinks at the feeding stations, served from paper cups, be careful and show consideration to other participants.

 

Trash

Please don´t throw anything along the course except at the checkpoints. A penalty fee of 15 euros may occur. 

 

Safety

Some downhills can give high speed. Beware of a sharp left turn at 10k, a long downhill at 16k, and a long downhill around 30k. 

 

After the race

There will be sweet drinks at the finish. Locker rooms /shower/café/prize award in Kaiskuru Nærmiljøsenter.

 

Prizes and prizegiving ceremony

All participants will get a medal at the finish line. Prizes to the top three for men, women, and youth categories. Withdrawal prizes after the prizegiving ceremony.

 

Transport

There is regular bus traffic every hour from Kaiskuru Nærmiljøsenter to Bossekop. The bus trip takes between 20-60 min travel time and it runs from 13.15 and at least every hour until the evening. The bus passes by the city center. Only a 5-minute walk from the bus stop Bossekop back to the start area. See travel info bus. Use the mobile app "Snelandia Reise" for travel info and the app "Snelandia Mobilett" for tickets. Other payments will not be accepted on the bus.

 

Accommodation

We recommend accommodation at Canyon Hotell in Alta city center, the Gargia Lodge or Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge.

The checkpoints will offer sweet drinks, and some stations with buns, bananas, and energy bars. Cola served on the last two checkpoints.

Transport

There are regular bus traffic every hour from Kaiskuru Nærmiljøsenter and to Bossekop. Aproxximately 30 min traveltime and it runs from 12.33 and every hour until the evening. The bus passes the by the city center. Only 5 min walk from bus stop Bossekop back to start area. See  travel info bus. Use the mobile-app "Snelandia reise" for travel info and the app "Snelandia Mobilett" for tickets. Other payments will not be accepted on the bus.
